Partnership with Original Composites & Fiberglass
Advancing circular materials in industrial composites manufacturing, Exel Composites GmbH, Joensuu/Finland, has partnered with Original Composites & Fiberglass to adopt Sustaina continuous filament mat for commercial-scale use across Europe. The material will be integrated into pultrusion processes in volumes of several hundred tons per year, supporting broader sustainability targets while maintaining the consistent performance required for demanding structural applications.
Sustaina is an ISCC+ certified glass fiber solution with 50% circular content based on a mass balance approach. For every 1 ton produced, at least 500 kg of virgin raw material is replaced by circular feedstock. According to the companies, this enables a measurable reduction in the use of primary resources without altering established manufacturing parameters.
